16 Days of Activism: SA rates highest when it comes to domestic violence

Incidents of domestic violence are very high in SA.

Domestic Violence is regarded as a serious and growing concern in South Africa, which has the highest incidences of domestic violence in the world.

The Domestic Violence Act of 1998 (Act116 of 1998) was brought into effect in order to afford the victims of domestic violence protection from abuse.

It was also through this Act that the country could take a stand against this form of violence.

Victims of domestic violence should report the matter to the SAPS.
