Woman allegedly raped at knife point

The Primrose police apprehended a man on a charge of rape.

A 21-year-old man was arrested by the Primrose police, last Sunday, on a charge of rape.

The man was arrested after the victim of the alleged attack opened a case against him at the Primrose Police Station.

“The woman told officers that she was out with friends at a local tavern when the accused approached her and forced her outside, saying he wanted to talk to her,” explained Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

“Once outside he allegedly threatened her with a sharp object and forced her back to his shack, where he allegedly ordered her to undress and penetrated her by force without using any protection.”

Police were able to trace the suspect, using the description given by the victim, and he was arrested.

He has since appeared in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court, where his case was postponed for a bail application.
