Man detained after dagga worth R5 000 was found in his home

Twenty-three-year-old man arrested for dealing in dagga on Main Reef Road.

A 23-year-old man was detained at the Germiston Police Station on Friday after officers caught him in possession of a big plastic bag containing 182 small packets of dagga on Main Reef Road.

“The officers from the Germiston SAPS Task Team were patrolling in the area when they noticed the man seated under a tree on Main Reef Road.

“They approached him and asked to search him,” said Const Maxwell Mabunda, communications officer for the Germiston police.

“Upon their search, they found a plastic bag filled with small packets of dagga on the suspect.

“Furthermore, the officers went to the suspect’s home, where they found even more dagga with a street value of R5 000.”

The suspect was arrested on a charge of dealing in dagga and will appear in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court soon.
