Donate to children’s book drive to inspire reading in youngsters

Help youngsters become active readers by donating a book.

With South African’s gearing up for National Book Week and the South African Book Fair in September, the Germiston City News, under the Caxton Cares banner, is encouraging the community, especially children, to pick up a book and read.

To this end we are holding a book collection drive, and are appealing to the community to donate children’s books.

You are also encouraged to write a personalised message in the books you donate for the recipients.

The books will be handed over to an identified group/s of children in the community.

The drive will run until September 6, and books can be dropped off at our office, situated at 25 Main Road, Fishers’ Hill, between 8am and 4pm on weekdays.

A number of schools have also come on board with the initiative, and all schools in Germiston are welcome to collect books for the drive.

The books will be handed over after National Book Week.
