Man arrested on charge of domestic violence

Primrose police apprehend man on charge of domestic violence in Primrose.

A 46-year-old man was recently arrested by the Primrose police on a charge of domestic violence.

The incident allegedly took place in the Makause informal settlement when the accused’s girlfriend reportedly refused to let him into her shack.

“The complainant alleged she was sleeping when the suspect arrived.

“She reportedly told him she was sleeping and that he should go home.

“He allegedly became angry and threatened to set fire to the shack if she did not open the door,” explained Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

“Realising that she was still ignoring him the accused allegedly told the complainant he would not support their children as he does not have money.

“When she finally opened the door to talk to him the man reportedly became very aggressive and slapped, punched and kicked the victim.”

The victim immediately reported the alleged attack to the police and the man was arrested.

He will appear in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court soon.
