Staff shares 67 minutes of love with children

Hirsch’s Meadowdale staff members took action to bring change in the community.

Mandela Day has been inspiring people across the world to take action and influence change for 67 minutes for 10 years.

Everyone has the ability and the responsibility to change the world for the better, and Mandela Day was yet another occasion for Hirsch’s Meadowdale to take action and inspire change within the community.

A team from the branch set out to Compass (Community Provision and Social Services) Day Care Centre in Edenvale to do their 67 minutes by providing the centre with fresh vegetables, soup, sweets, diapers and four Rest Assured mattresses.

The centre is a non-profit organisation that houses and shelters individuals by providing dignified home environments where people can have a second chance at life.

“Every year for Mandela Day, Hirsch’s tries to do something different and exciting for people within the community and to have been able to give back to children this year was an absolute pleasure,” said Chantelle du Plessis, Hirsch’s Meadowdale public relations officer.

“They are such a joy to work with, and there is nothing quite like the smile on a child’s face to brighten your day.”

The Compass children thanked Hirsch’s staff for the donations by giving them warm, loving hugs.
