The new Easterns Cricket League season is just around the corner and Elsburg Eagles Cricket Club are beginning their preparation.

The team play their home matches at either their main oval, the Elsburg Eagles Main Oval in Dinwiddie situated at 1 Malherbe Street, or their second oval at the Elsburg Sports Complex, situated on the corner of Heidelberg Road and Egret Street in Elspark.

“We are appealing to younger players to join the club and play in our u-9, u-10, u-13, u-15 and u-17 teams,” said Grobler.

“Without the junior structure, we will not be able to play in the Premier League in the next two years.

“Hand in hand with the junior structure, we need to get a minimum of four Sunday league teams and two Saturday league teams within our senior structure to be able to play in the Premier League.

“We are determined to keep cricket alive, not only for us, but for the whole community and our children who will follow in the years to come.”
