Avoid becoming a victim of rape with these safety tips

Women advised to take these steps to ensure their safety.

Women and young girls are warned not to roam around alone late at night.

The SAPS has issued the following tips to women to help prevent rape:

  • Girls are warned not to go around late at night.
  • They must avoid the company of men they don’t know.
  • If they have to walk in the streets, they must walk where there are lights.

  • They must avoid walking alone at night.
  • They must avoid walking in dark passages.
  • They must always scream for help if attacked.
  • They must avoid deserted areas where they are no people.
