The EMPD Drug Enforcement Unit arrested a suspected drug dealer last Sunday at 9.30am who was found in possession of illicit substances in the form of Mandrax tablets and khat.
The arrest was effected in Phase 5A in Buhle Park when the suspect was found in possession of five full Mandrax tablets, four quarter Mandrax tablets and 16 ziplock bags of khat with a street value of R3 500.
Cash amounting to R235, believed to be proceeds from the illicit dealings, was also confiscated from the suspect.
The 35-year-old South African male was detained at the Elsburg Police Station on charges of possession of and dealing in narcotics.
He was expected to appear in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court last Monday.
