Vehicle hits barrier and rolls after driver swerves to avoid gas bottle

Netcare 911 paramedics treated a 73-year-old man who sustained minor injuries after his vehicle rolled on the M2 highway in Germiston.

Netcare 911 paramedics raced to the scene of an accident on the M2 highway in Germiston, last Sunday at 10.49pm.

“Reports from the scene indicated that the driver of a light motor vehicle lost control when he tried to avoid a gas bottle in his lane,” explained Shawn Herbst, media liaison officer for Netcare Limited.

“In the process the vehicle crashed into the barrier and rolled.”

The 73-year-old male driver sustained minor injuries and was treated on the scene.

“Once stabilised the patient was transported by Netcare 911 ambulance to a local hospital for further treatment,” said Herbst.
