A march of solidarity against gender-based violence

Human Trafficking International (HTI) hosts successful two-day awareness campaign against rape.

Human Trafficking International (HTI), together with the Anglican Women’s Fellowship (AWF), hosted their two-day WAR (Women Against Rape) campaign at Bonchares Park, situated on the corner of Shamrock Road and Beaconsfield Avenue in Primrose.

“Our main objective is to run an array of empowerment platforms to ensure sustainable livelihoods for communities with a large focus on victim empowerment,” said Kholiwe Dlamini, founder of HTI.

In sticking to its core mandate to fight the root cause of human trafficking in people and gender-based violence (GBV), HTI and residents who joined the rally hit the Primrose streets with placards, advocating for GBV victims and calling for an end to the scourge on violence against women and children, during their fun walk.

“Through this fun walk, we seek to encourage active community support against abuse and impact the community, as well as raise funds and create visibility for HTI’s fight against human trafficking,” said Kholiwe.
