Six nabbed in stop-and-search

Katlehong police continued their efforts to curb crime in the area by hosting a stop-and-search operation.

In an effort to curb crime in Katlehong and increase police visibility, the Katlehong SAPS conducted a stop-and-search operation last Thursday.

During the operation, carried out by members of the Katlehong Police Crime Prevention Unit and detectives from the Katlehong Police Station, six suspects were nabbed.

The suspects were arrest for various offences.

Charges included murder, dealing in drugs, possession of an illegal substance and possession of drugs.

All of the arrested suspects appeared in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court, where their cases were postponed for various reasons.

Katlehong SAPS station commander Brig Sammy Tambo also sent a plea to residents living in hostels to come forward with information on suspects who are terrorising and killing people in the hostels throughout Katlehong.
