New CPF hopes to make a difference in the Rondebult community

Rondebult CPF tackles crime-related issues in their area

Tired of the crime in their area, the residents of Rondebult came together last Saturday to launch the Rondebult CPF.

The first official meeting for the newly formed CPF was held at Rondebult Independent Primary School, with members of the Elsburg CPF in attendance to show their support.

“During the meeting, our CPF committee members, who were all present, were introduced to the community,” said Jerome Padayachee, public relations officer, on behalf of the Rondebult CPF.

“The residents who attended the meeting were happy that something is finally being done to keep our neighbourhood safe.”

Padayachee explained that the area is plagued by crimes, such as house break-ins and theft, hijackings, robberies (especially of community members’ cellphones) and attempted kidnappings.

“With the launch of the CPF, we believe the community will be more vigilant,” he said.

“The community will become the eyes and the ears of the Elsburg police and assist them in combating crime.

“The CPF is ready and willing and are already working with the police.”

Going forward, the CPF plans to hold monthly meetings to get the community more involved in their work.

“Meetings will be held in the park in Rondebult, but we are hoping to work together with Rondebult Independent Primary School to assist us with a venue,” said Padayachee.
