EMPD investigate alleged drug use and dealings at Primrose internet lounge

Following up on complaints from the community, EMPD officers raided an internet lounge.

EMPD Drug Enforcement Unit members received complaints about drug dealers and users at an internet lounge on Elm Street in Primrose, last Saturday.

Following the investigation of the complaint, one suspected user was arrested.

“Although no drug dealers were found at the location, at 11am one 32-year-old male suspect was found with a ziplock bag containing crystal methamphetamine valued at R200 and a glass pipe with traces of drugs in it,” said Chief Supt Wilfred Kgasago, spokesperson for the EMPD.

“He was arrested.”

The arrested suspect was charged at the Primrose Police Station for possession of narcotics.

He was expected to appear in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court last Monday.
