Colour in Ekurhuleni will be held at Germiston Lake

Ward 39 councillor Alta de Beer warns community about upcoming festival.

Colour in Ekurhuleni 2019, the ‘Confetti Edition’ is coming to Germiston.

Colour in Ekurhuleni returns for the fourth consecutive year and will feature the very best in local house music and hip-hop talent.

The music extravaganza will be held at Germiston Lake on April 27 from noon until midnight.

Following the public outcry and the flood of noise complaints from last year’s RapLyf Records and Kwesta’s three-day-long Spring Break Festival, Ward 39 councillor Alta de Beer hopes to prepare the community surrounding Germiston Lake.

“The festival organisers are expecting around 4 500 people to attend the event, which has been classified as a medium risk event,” she explained.

“SAPS and EMPD will be deployed to monitor the festivities.

“I have also been told there will be an acoustic consultant on site to ensure all noise from the festival is within acceptable levels.”
