Man arrested for Makause assault

Primrose police apprehend man for assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

A 39-year-old man was recently arrested by the Primrose police on a charge of assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

The accused was arrested in the Makause informal settlement after the victim of the alleged assault opened a case against him.

“The complainant alleged that he went to Makause to look for his girlfriend who was allegedly drunk,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

“He claimed he went to a shack that she often visited and waited at the gate.

“The suspect came out of the shack and allegedly began hitting him repeatedly with a golf club.”

The accused was traced and arrested.

He has since appeared in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court where the case was postponed for plea and trial.
