Amy Weinerlein, a Grade 12 learner and headgirl of Assumption Convent School, was the recipient of the Individual Best Speaker Trophy for 2019 at the Speech and Drama College (SA) Public Speaking Festival.
On February 22 and April 10, Amy presented a prepared speech of approximately five minutes on a topic of her own choice and thereafter had to create a three minute impromptu speech in 10 minutes.

This requires tremendous skill and public speaking prowess.
The 58th annual Public Speaking Festival took place in February and March.
It is organised by the Speech and Drama College (SA).
There were approximately 64 entrants in the individual speaker competition and only five speakers were selected for the finals.
