Katlehong SAPS target criminals in weekend operations

Katlehong police arrested 32 during several different weekend operations.

The Katlehong SAPS had a busy weekend, arresting 32 suspects through various operations held between March 15 and 17.

The operations were conducted by officers from the Katlehong Crime Prevention Unit, with the help of detectives from the Katlehong Police Station and the EMPD.

The accused were charged with several different offences.

Charges included assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm, common assault, fraud, shoplifting, dealing in drugs, possession of drugs and driving under the influence of alcohol.

Katlehong SAPS acting station commander Col Doctor Sibuyi is pleading with the community to report crimes as soon as they happen and not to wait.

All of the arrested suspects appeared in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court where their cases were postponed for various reasons.
