While on a foot patrol in Shamrock Road last Friday, officers from the Primrose Police Station noticed a man carrying a yellow bench toward one of the local informal settlements.

“As there have been a large number of burglaries reported in Primrose, the police became suspicious and stopped the 30-year-old man,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.
“They asked him where he had obtained the bench, but he was unable to give the officers a clear explanation and was arrested.”
He was taken to the Primrose Police Station where he was charged with possession of suspected stolen property.

He has since appeared in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court, where his case was postponed for plea and trial.
