Stolen school computer found in Primrose

The Primrose police apprehended a man for possession of suspected stolen property in Primrose.

A 26-year-old man was arrested by officers from the Ekurhuleni Flying Squad (Germiston), on Wednesday, for possession of suspected stolen property.

The man was arrested in Willow Road, after a laptop, believed to have been stolen from a local school, was found in his possession.

“Officers tracked the laptop to a house on Willow Road,” explained Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

“They asked the accused, who was at the house, if they could search the house.

“During the search, they found the laptop wrapped in a black plastic bag.”

When asked for proof of purchase or ownership the suspect could not supply any documentation and he was arrested and taken to the Primrose Police Station.

He has since appeared in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court where his case was postponed for plea and trial.

“We are appealing to our community not to buy cheap items without proof of purchase.

“Because if the item has been stolen and is in your possession you can be arrested,” warned Maome.
