The Katlehong police’s Crime Prevention Unit officers had a busy weekend conducting several different operations within their precinct.
The operations were mounted between January 18 and 20, with the assistance of detectives from the Katlehong Police Station and EMPD officers.

The accused were charged with a number of different offences.
Charges included:
• Assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm: 3
• Dealing in liquor without a licence: 1
• Shoplifting: 1
• Possession of drugs: 4
• Driving under the influence of alcohol: 9

All of the arrested suspects appeared in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court, where their cases were postponed for different reasons.
