A tip-off from members of the community resulted in three Rasta informal settlement residents being apprehended by the EMPD SWAT Unit, last Friday.
The residents were nabbed for possession of over 3kg of dagga in a plastic bag, 241 small newspaper “packets” of dagga and 68 ziplock bags of dagga.
The raid occurred just after midday.

The SWAT members responded quickly to the tip-off and searched the shack finding the dagga with an estimated street value of R27 000.
During the arrest of the three men, over R1 000 in cash was also confiscated as it was suspected to be the proceeds of drug dealing.
The suspects, aged between 18 and 43, were detained at the Primrose Police Station, and charged with possession of and dealing in dagga.
They are expected to appear in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court soon.
