Youngsters receive food parcels for festive season

Peermont Children’s Trust aids needy children.

With the December school holidays in full swing, the Peermont Children’s Trust (PCT), a CSI programme of Emperors Palace, once again distributed food parcels to less fortunate learners from areas that fall in the Palace of Dreams’ catchment area, prior to the start of the holidays.

In total, 650 youngsters, who attend the seven aftercare centres supported by the trust in Ekurhuleni, benefited from this handover which will help keep them nourished over the festive season.

Learners who attend the trust-supported aftercare centres also receive food parcels before the mid-year school holidays, get new uniforms at the start of each school year and benefit from a feeding scheme and supervised aftercare during the school term, which annually costs the trust R2.6-million.
