Boxers showcase their skills

Tinika Vilares and Bianca Barnard made their boxing ring debut at Box Berg 1.

Thunder MMA trained Tinika Vilares, from Elsburg, recently made her boxing ring debut and showcased her skills at Junkyard Promotions’ white-collar boxing event, Box Berg 1.

She faced Bianca Barnard from Junkyard MMA, who was also making her boxing debut, in her bout.

Heading into the bout, Vilares was 2.5kg heavier and had a significant height advantage over Barnard, who had only been training for a little over a month before the fight, but this did not matter to the two fighters and they gave it their all from start to finish.

The women battled it out through each of the bout’s three rounds, holding nothing back and each landing powerful blows on their opponents, with no knock out taking place.

In the GCN’s previous article on this bout, it was stated that Vilares won the encounter. This is, however, incorrect.

As it was a white-collar boxing event there were no winners.

The GCN apologises for any inconvenience caused.
