Sixteen nabbed in weekend operations

Katlehong North police arrest 16 suspects, for various crimes, in weekend operations.

Officers from the Katlehong North Police Station conducted a number of different operations between November 9 and 11.

Sixteen suspects were arrested during the operations, for various offences.

Charges included common assault, assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm, theft, driving under the influence of alcohol, reckless and negligent driving, common robbery and possession of drugs.

Katlehong North SAPS station commander, Col Reginah Rampota, congratulated the team on their hard work.

She further appealed to the community to continue working closely with the police in fighting crime in the area.

“Report any criminal activities without any fear by contacting the SAPS,” she said.

All of the arrested suspects appeared in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court, where their cases were postponed for various reasons.
