Gala dinner to reward top businesswomen in Gauteng

The Margaret Hirsch Women in Business Achiever of the Year 2018 Awards is set to take place on Friday.

Top businesswomen from all the areas in which Hirsch operates in Gauteng (including Meadowdale, Brakpan, Strubens Valley, Fourways, Centurion and Silverlakes) are on tenterhooks to find out who will be announced as the regional winner and branch winners of the Margaret Hirsch Women in Business Achiever of the Year 2018 competition.

The regional winner and the winners from each branch will be announced at a gala dinner that will take place at Emperors Palace on November 2.

The event is being sponsored by Hirsch’s and Grundig and is a fund-raising event for Girls with Dignity.

The public is welcome to attend the event.

Finalists from the Hirsch’s Meadowdale branch include Vanessa Krügel, Candice Van Wyk, Elsa Groenewald, Natalie Danster-Abrahams, Dr Marlena Kruger, Dr Tamara Pheiffer, Tracey Jordaan, Victorine Mbong Shu, Naseera Turkey, Dikeledi Seleka, Ciska Scheepers, Angela James and Alta Muller.

Margaret started the competition in KZN, the Western Cape and Gauteng several years ago after winning her first award in 2012 – The Business Women’s Association of South Africa (BWASA) Entrepreneur of the Year Award.

She has gone on to win 28 top business awards since then.

“It was the most wonderful experience, both for me personally and for Hirsch’s, and I wanted to share this experience with other businesswomen in South Africa who perhaps do not consider themselves good enough or do not get acknowledged for all the effort they put into their business and into the community as a whole.

“Our finalists over the years have gone on to win several more awards and we are extremely proud of them,” said Margaret.

Entertainment for the evening will be well-known drag artist, Sasha LeStrange and the guest speaker is Melanie Hawken, the founder and CEO of Lionesses of Africa.
