While conducting a stop-and-search operation in the Elsburg policing precinct, the Elsburg SAPS noticed a man standing next to a gambling establishment in Voortrekker Street.
“The police officers approached the man and asked to search him.
“Upon searching him a small plastic bag containing a white substance was found in the man’s trousers.
“The police officers believed the substance to be drugs,” said Const Daphney Phooko, communications officer for the Elsburg police.
The man was immediately arrested on a charge of drug possession.
The drugs in his possession had a street value of R100.
He was detained in Elsburg SAPS custody and will appear in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court soon to face a charge of drug possession.
