Keep these safety tips in mind

Community warned to be alert and aware at all times

Some safety tips for the community to keep in mind.

  • Smash and grabs:

It has been reported that there have been an increased number of smash and grabs at the corner of Shamrock and Pretoria roads, Shamrock and Main Reef roads and the entrance to the BP petrol station on Johann Rissik Road and Exodus Road.

The community is reminded to not leave handbags, laptops, cellphones or anything valuable lying in plain sight in their vehicles, as this is a temptation to criminals.

  • Pavement parking:

The community is urged to not park on the pavement or street whenever possible.

Please do not park in your driveway and please warn your visitors to wait in the road to be let into your yard. Vehicles should be parked in the yard or garage of a property whenever possible.

  • High hijacking times:

There has been an increase in hijacking between 5pm and 9pm.

  • Housebreaking times:

It is reported that most houses in the Primrose area are broken into between 6am and 2pm.

It is believed criminals are aware of the comings and goings of a household.

If possible make sure your neighbours know who should be in your yard.

  • Elderly remain a target:
The elderly are still an easy target for criminals and we urge them to take the necessary precautions.
