Two women arrested for drug possession

Two women were charged with possession of drugs after a police raid in Laurel Street, in Primrose.

Officers from the provincial Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences (FCS) Unit and West Rand K9 Unit raided a house in Laurel Street in Primrose, recently.

The raid was part of an ongoing human trafficking investigation.

“The team, armed with a search warrant, searched the house and found two women, aged 26 and 49 years old,” explained Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

“One of the women was found in possession of a gram of methamphetamine and the other in possession of several clear plastic bags containing a white substance believed to be drugs.”

The accused were arrested and taken to the Primrose Police Station where they were charged with possession of drugs.

They will appear in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court soon.
