Man allegedly damages woman’s shack with stones and rocks

Primrose police apprehended a Delport informal settlement man for malicious damage to property.

A 30-year-old Delport informal settlement man was arrested by police, last Saturday, and charged with malicious damage to property.

The man was arrested after he allegedly threw stones and rocks at a woman’s shack, breaking several windows before he gained access into the shack through one of the windows.

The incident was reported to police by the victim and the accused’s girlfriend, who was sharing the shack at the time.

The women managed to escape the shack, with their children, before the accused gained entry.

“The suspect allegedly came to the home demanding to see his girlfriend, with whom he has children, but she refused to come out.

“It was then he began to throw stones and rocks,” explained Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

The suspect was arrested and detained at the Primrose Police Station.

He has since appeared in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court, where his case was postponed for plea and trial.
