Man nabbed for drug possession

Man arrested and charged with possession of drugs during Primrose police patrol.

While on a routine patrol in Rietfontein Road, last Monday, officers from the Primrose police noticed a man acting suspiciously.

“When the man noticed the police he became tense and attempted to throw away a clear plastic packet containing a white substance,” said communications officer for the Primrose police, Sgt Styles Maome.

The officers approached the man and asked him to give them the packet he had attempted to dispose of.

“The man did as they asked and police discover the packet contained a white substance, believed to be drugs,” said Maome.

The 30-year-old was arrested and held at the Primrose Police Station, pending his appearance in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court.
