Woman raped and stabbed in Primrose

The Primrose police apprehended a 24-year-old man in connection with a Zinnia Avenue rape and assault.

While on a recent patrol, officers from the Primrose Police Station received a complaint about a fight in Zinnia Avenue, in Primrose.

The officers proceeded to the address given where they met a woman who reported that a woman living in a small backroom had been raped and stabbed with a beer bottle in the upper body.

“She took the police to the room where they found a badly injured woman lying naked on the floor bleeding,” said communications officer for the Primrose police Sgt Styles Maome.

Gathering all the information they could they began their investigation.

A 24-year-old man was soon arrested and charged with rape and assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

He was held at the Primrose Police Station and later appeared in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court, where his case was postponed for a bail application.
