Three arrested for Marlands theft and assault

Primrose police arrest three suspects in connection with Marlands assault and theft.

Three women, aged between 21 and 45 years old, were arrested by the Primrose police recently for assault and theft of a cellphone.

The accused were arrested after they allegedly assaulted the youngest woman’s boyfriend’s mother and allegedly stole her phone.

“The complainant alleged that her son’s girlfriend entered her Marlands house screaming that her son is useless.

“The complainant ordered the woman to leave the house, and though she left, she returned shortly with her mother and aunt,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

The victim said she tried to stop them entering the house but they overpowered her and entered the house.

“They began swearing at her and she picked up her cellphone to try and call her security company.

“However, they slapped her and she slapped one back and the women started fighting,” said Maome.

During the fight the cellphone went missing.

The incident was reported to the Primrose police and the three women were arrested.

They were later released and warned to appear in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court.
