Authentic German food served at Jahrmarkt

Lush traditional German food and beverages at the Jahrmarkt.

The Jahrmarkt Winter Festival known for its German food and beverages introduced a South African feel to the festival which dates back to the ’60s, last Saturday, at the Lutheran Church in Parkhill Gardens.

“We have introduced a lot of South African beers, pap and even boerewors and those additions are doing well at our market,” said Dieter Hartman, one of the event organisers.

“Ultimately we’d like to cater for everyone by adding more of a South African flavour and continue to offer an authentic taste of German cuisine and craft beer to locals.”
