Police clamp down on dagga use

Primrose police arrest ten suspects for dagga possession in Primrose.

The Primrose police arrested ten suspects, aged between 21 and 49 years old, for possession of dagga.

The arrests were made during a police foot patrol of the Makause, Marathon and Delport informal settlements last Tuesday.

The men were detained at the Primrose Police Station pending their appearance in court.

“We are still battling with substance abuse in our precinct and we will carry on arresting all law breakers in our area.

“We, as police, believe that substance abuse leads to domestic violence, murders and unnecessary assaults and robberies,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

All the suspects appeared in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court, where some had their cases postponed while others paid admission of guilt fines before being released.
