Women get together for support and companionship

The Lilies held their first event last Saturday.

The Lilies (Ladies Life Group), from the AFM Primrose East Church, held their first of many ladies’ teas last Saturday.

The aim of hosting such events is to address and bring awareness to some of the challenges our community is facing today.

The focus is on how God can truly make lasting changes to one’s life.

Community members listened to Milosca Phyfer who told them of her inspiring life journey of drug abuse to becoming a positive and productive member of society again.

Speaker Milosca Phyfer talking about how God turned her life around for good.

After the talk, the women had some delicious eats and beverages in the church hall and got to chat and get to know each other a little better.

A representative from Elim Clinic in Kempton Park provided a lot of information regarding various types of addiction, signs of addiction, what kind of help is available and much more.

Businesses and community members have the opportunity to give back and get involved by means of sponsoring any of the events hosted by the Lilies group.

Attendees enjoying at cup of tea, eats and a comforting chat together.

Various speakers are invited to give their testimonies, information and advice to help audiences cope with their struggles and find solutions and possibly a friend or two.

All are invited to join these talks and gain a further understanding and insight into whatever subject is covered.

The ladies’ tea events will be held every three months in future by the Lilies group at AFM Primrose East Church.
