Man arrested for armed robbery, two at large

Primrose police arrest man for armed robbery, launch search for two others.

A 32-year-old man was arrested by the Primrose police last Sunday on a charge of armed robbery.

It is alleged that the man was one of three suspects who held a man at gunpoint in Main Reef Road and stole his ID book, bank card, cellphone and R850 in cash.

“The victim reported the crime to officers at the Primrose Police Station, who started an investigation into the matter,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

The suspect has since appeared in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court, where the case was postponed for plea and trial.

“Police are still searching for the other two suspects,” said Maome.
