Seniors celebrate Valentine’s Day
Ward councillor makes a surprise visit to a retirement village on Valentine’s Day.
The Corrie Oberholzer retirement flats in Dinwiddie held a special Valentine’s Day lunch for the residents on Wednesday, and they were visited by a surprise guest.
The residents welcomed their honoured guest, Ward 37 councillor Tiaan Kotze, who joined them for the Valentine’s festivities dressed in red and white to fit the day’s theme.
“We thank everyone for coming, especially Tiaan, Odette Ashby for the photos and for putting together the lucky draw, as well as Marie Greyvenstein for donating the ice-cream,” said Rieka van Nieuwenhuizen, one of the event organisers.
Marie van der Westhuizen was the winner of the lucky draw competition, while Cathy Delport won best dressed woman and Daan van Breda won best dressed man.
