Potgieter Park new home for squatters

A number of squatters have taken to their new home, Potgieter Park, and residents aren’t pleased.

According to the councillor of Ward 36, Wendy Morgan, Potgieter Park is still occupied by squatters even after numerous attempts to remove them.

“They are definitely there every night to sleep.

“It does not help to just tell them to move as they just return as soon as you leave,” said Morgan.

The area behind the electrical sub-station on the corner of Main and Comet roads in Fishers Hill occupied by squatters.

The squatters have allegedly appropriated the area behind the electrical sub-station on the corner of Main and Comet roads in Fishers Hill and this is causing a safety and health risk to the community.

While rubbish and recycling are building up at the park it is also reported that surrounding residents have started to feel vulnerable.
