Victim support facility available in Elsburg

Elsburg community runs a victim support facility open to everyone.

A victim support centre based in Elsburg is in full operation and open to the public.

The child-friendly facility is run by a group of community members who are determined to offer support to trauma victims in and around the area.

All volunteers have received training on how to defuse situations, debriefing, as well as offering emotional and practical support.

“The role of the volunteer on the scene is to provide emotional and practical support for the victims, advise victims of their rights and inform them of the process they’ll undergo following the incident,” said David Errington of the Elsburg Victim Support Centre.

Free counselling and support services are available to victims of crime who need further assistance.

Contact the Elsburg SAPS Victim Support Centre on 078 708 9965 to make an appointment.
