A 30-year-old woman recently opened a case of house robbery with the Germiston police.
She claimed that the home she worked at as a domestic worker, in Dinwiddie, had been robbed.
“Officers launched an immediate investigation and soon discovered that the woman had not been telling the truth about the crime.

“It was discovered that she had opened a false case and she was arrested for perjury,” explained Capt George Raphulu, head of communications for the Germiston SAPS.
“It is hoped that this arrest will serve as a warning to the community not to open false cases, as it is a criminal offence.”
The accused was detained at the Germiston Police Station pending her appearance in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court.
