Man and woman arrested for money laundering

Officers from the Germiston Police Station got more than they bargained for when they pulled over a suspicious looking vehicle in Lambton, recently. “The officers were patrolling the Lambton area when they noticed a suspicious looking vehicle,” explained Capt George Raphulu, head of communications for the Germiston SAPS. Officers searched the vehicle and its 37-year-old male and 34-year-old female occupants, and were surprised to find official Home Affairs documents, asylum documents, 34 ID books and an undisclosed amount of cash.

Pit bull kills six-month-old baby, family speaks of the tragedy (update)

“He was always smiling, had no problems and was very loving.” These are the words of Ané Stols, who spoke to the GCN after the death of her six-month-old baby boy, Callum, recently, in Fourth Avenue, Primrose. Callum was attacked by a pit bull and died at his grandmother’s house just after 7am.

Mother opens case against daughter’s older boyfriend

A mother recently opened a case against her 15-year-old daughter’s 26-year-old boyfriend after she discovered that the pair were allegedly having sex. “The complainant told officers at the Primrose Police Station, while opening the case, that she had become concerned when her daughter stopped sleeping at home,” explained Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police. The woman further explained that her daughter said she had been staying with friends.

PBFSA speaks out about pit bulls after fatal Primrose attack (update)

The Pit Bull Federation of South Africa (PBFSA) was reportedly inundated with calls on Wednesday following the tragic death of Baby Callum and felt, given the severity of the situation, it was necessary to release an official statement.
