Author writes to inspire and help others

Germiston plays host to Ekurhuleni author’s book launch.

Born and bred in KwaThema in Springs Thokozani Dladla has many things to say and he has put down his thoughts in his first book, Falling Forward.

The book will be launched this Friday from 7pm at the banquet hall at the Germiston Civic Centre and people are urged to book their tickets and come along to meet the dynamic author.

Your ticket price will include a signed copy of the book, a welcome drink, refreshments and a chance to win prizes on the evening.

For more information or to book your tickets contact Charlene Ndlovu on 073 424 0878.

“Falling Forward is basically a motivational and inspirational book which speaks about entrepreneurship, leadership and education,” said Thokozani.

“It has 34 chapters and although I tried to be quite general, each chapter does have references to my own experiences.”

Thokozani, now 34, completed his matric at Labanmo Mothlabi Secondary School in KwaThema and graduated as a chemical engineer from the University of Johannesburg.

He decided to study chemical engineering to follow in his uncle’s footsteps, however, when he was busy doing his in-service training just before graduating he realised that the career was not for him.

He opened his own business doing funeral insurance and services and the business is doing well.

Writing for a better future

“I want to create a legacy and that is one of the reasons I decided to write my book,” he said.

Thokozani was one of the top book salesmen for motivational speaker and author Gayton McKenzie and said that he was extremely inspired by his rags-to-riches stories.

“One day someone said to me that they think the time has come for me to stop getting commission and start getting royalties,” Thokozani said.

“I said I would think about it and it didn’t take long before I decided to do it.

“I feel my story can help a whole lot of other people and inspire people to do well.”
