South African Weather Service warns of severe thunderstorms and heavy rains predicted in parts of the province today.
Germiston woke up to a sky full of dark clouds and rain this morning and the South African Weather Service has warned residents to be on high alert as severe thunderstorms and heavy rain are predicted for the remainder of the day.
The service has predicted that the wet weather will last the rest of the week and into the weekend.

Beware of flash floods, heavy rain
Motorists are reminded to take the necessary precautions when travelling.
They are encouraged to reduce speed and increase their following distance and headlights should be kept on at all times to increase visibility.
Residents should also ensure that they shelter their pets.
