Four nabbed for dagga possession

Primrose police apprehend four for possession of dagga during informal settlement foot patrol.

During a foot patrol through Primrose’s informal settlements, on Wednesday, the Primrose police arrested four suspects, aged between 25 and 43 years old, for possession of dagga.

They were detained at the Primrose Police Station following their arrest.

“We are still battling the challenge of substance abuse in our precinct and hope that by carrying out operations such as these and arresting law breakers we will make a difference,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

Police believe that substance abuse could be the cause of many domestic violence incidents, murders and unnecessary assaults.

All four suspects paid admission of guilt fines and were released on a warning.
