Employee nabbed after alleged theft in Wadeville

Alleged thief arrested by Elsburg SAPS.

A man working at a Davidson Road, Wadeville business noticed a man in a grey work suit jumping over the back wall of the company, last Monday.

The incident took place at about 2pm.

“The complainant alleged that he immediately notified the security officer on duty after identifying the man who had jumped the wall,” said Const Daphney Phooko, communications officer for the Elsburg SAPS.

“The security officer went to check the area where the man had allegedly jumped over and found eight sockets lying on the ground in the long grass.”

The following morning when the 37-year-old man reported for duty the Elsburg SAPS were called and he was arrested on a charge of general theft.
