Trophy dream could come true for Elsburg

Elsburg Rugby Club beat Delmas in their Kestrel League semi-final on Saturday.

Elsburg Rugby Club triumphed in what was an extremely physical semi-final match at the Elspark Sports Grounds, on Saturday.

The local men took on Delmas in the Kestrel League and walked away the victors with a score line of 18-10.

The team will face Eden Park in the final at 11am, this Saturday, at Barnard Stadium in Kempton Park.

Although there seemed to be a number of complaints, from both teams, about many of the referee’s decisions, Elsburg played strong rugby with most of the action being in the Delmas half.

The team were elated with their win and are looking forward to contesting for the trophy.

The try scorers for Elsburg were Pierre Bezuidenhout with two tries and Damian Diedericks with one.

Rudie Wessels kicked a successful penalty shot.

Don’t miss out on the epic final battle and get on down to Barnard Stadium to show your support for the local team.
