Collision on N3 highway between Marlboro and London roads causes traffic chaos for Germiston commuters

It is believed two people died in a crash on Monday night.

At approximately 11.49pm on Monday night (May 29) Netcare 911 paramedics responded to reports of a very serious collision on the N3 highway in the direction of Germiston, between the Marlboro and London road off-ramps.

Paramedics responded from their nearby base and were first to arrive on the scene.

A large fire had engulfed the scene and nobody was able to approach any of the vehicles due to the intense heat.

“Eyewitnesses alleged that a bakkie was travelling in the wrong direction on the highway and collided head-on with the truck.

“The fire department was called and firefighters arrived shortly afterwards,” said Nick Dollman, media liaison inland for Netcare Limited.
