Two trapped in Primrose mine

Emergency services work to free men trapped in mine.

Two men were trapped after descending into a mine on Stanley Road in Primrose, this afternoon.

It is believed that the owner and one employee of the mine had descended more than 75 metres into the mine to check on water levels.

ER24 paramedics were called to the scene at about 3pm and arrived to find one of the men had allegedly run out of oxygen.

It is believed that the men had been trapped for longer than an hour at the time of the paramedics arrival.

Local authorities were on the scene.
