GCN went out to the community to find out what it is they love the most about winter.
Community members had different favourites from the clothing to the food.
It was rather interesting to discover how people view and appreciate the season.
“I love the food because it is warm and keeps me warm as well; my favourites are coffee and soup, among others,” said Shylet Maphosa.
Knowledge Mrema said, “The one thing I love in winter is coffee because it keeps me warm; I drink three cups of coffee a day during winter.”
“I love winter clothes, especially boots and coats, and winter colours are not too bright and I like that,” said Khothatso Stona.
“I love winter because I have to play a lot of sports to keep warm and I also love the long holidays in winter,” said Gabriel Hendry (7).

“For me, winter is another reminder of how privileged I am to have shelter and blankets to keep me warm; I often think about the less fortunate,” said Margaret Joubert.
